Merry Christmas Eve everyone! :)
You may remember that back on Day 106 I talked about Kiva. Kiva is an organization through which a person can make a microloan as small as $25 dollars to entrepreneurs around the world. When I completed this challenge I looked through pictures of different entrepreneurs and chose to lend my $25 to a woman named Ana Ofelia. My loan helped Ana Ofelia buy products to sell in her general store.
The best part about Kiva is that the money you "donate" is really a loan, and loans are paid back. Ana Ofelia was able to repay my $25 loan (99.01% of Kiva loans are repaid), and because of that, I was able to make another $25 loan to someone else who could use it!
This time, I decided to lend my $25 to a woman named Visitacion. Visitacion lives in the Phillipines and was looking for a loan to purchase inventory for her store. Her loan is now fully funded, so hopefully her business can grow in the coming months! Microloans are so easy to do, and they allow us to work together to make sustainable changes in the lives of people around the world. If you have $25 and want to make a loan, check out Kiva!
Thank you all for being so kind this year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, and that your holiday is filled with joy! :)
