DIFFICULTY: Easy
Besides planting trees, another great way to slow down deforestation is by using less paper. Recycling paper products is always important, but we use a lot of paper in our day to day life that we need to keep too! Schools and businesses, especially, consume and often waste large amounts of paper. One thing my school has done to make things more environmental friendly, and make classes more efficient, is to put most of our course work online. This way, instead of printing out powerpoints for every student, we can look at the on the computer at home. However, sometimes this can be a pain and usually people like to have hard copy of what they're working on. A simple way to cut back paper use is to make double sided copies! It cuts the amount of paper you're using in half, saving money and helping the environment. Try doing this the next time you have to make a lot of copies for something!
On another note, I get to cross off Day 26: Sports!, which was a challenge to support your friends or classmates in a sports event, concert or play. I went to see the high school play tonight, and everyone did a great job! Going to see plays helps support your friends as well as the drama department of your school, so more plays can be produced next year! :)
