I couldn't have had an environmental month without including planting trees! I know when I was in elementary school we had a fire safety day (or something like that) and they gave each of us a baby tree to plant! I can't remember if I planted mine, I'm sure I must have, but either way, I'm going to try to plant another one! If you go here or here, you can see the many advantages to planting a tree. Not only do trees provide us with the oxygen we need to breath, they also remove the carbon dioxide we create from the air! Since we use a lot of trees as fuel and goods like paper, it's probably good to plant one or two every once and awhile! Trees are also nice for landscaping, stop desertification, and even create nice shelter for wildlife. The first site also claims that trees can fight poverty! (although I'm not sure how they do that unless they produce some kind of fruit...) Anyways, no matter how you look at it, planting trees is a good idea. Especially for the environment! As I look outside, it doesn't seem to be a very good time of the year for tree planting, but I'll make sure I complete this one when the weather gets nicer!
Also, another 25 cents and 5 soda tabs for the count! :)
