So you may have noticed I haven't posted in a really long time (yikes!). It just so happened that with the multitude of tests I had to take towards the end of my junior year as well as a lot of other things that have been happening, I needed to take a bit of a hiatus from Love, Anonymously. However, I'm back now and hopefully I'll be able to try to catch up, maybe posting a couple of times a day. Even if I wasn't able to maintain the one post a day idea I had at the beginning, I'd still like to complete as many of the 365 good deeds I can in 2010!
UPDATES:
UPDATES:
- 76 more soda tabs
- 1 more box top
- $1.04 for the changepot
- 8 more hours of volunteering (at least! I think it may be more than that but I'll stick with 8)
Anyways, I haven't been completely ignoring Love, Anonymously while I've been taking a break! First of all, back on Day 80, I talked about an event called Relay for Life that raises money for the American Cancer Society. Well, I successfully captained a team this year and it was a really great experience! My team raised $5,507 and I personally raised $1,215. I walked around 16.5 miles around the track and the event itself was great! The weather was perfect and for anyone thinking about participating in their local Relay for Life (they have them all around the country), I'd definitely recommend it!
I've also been working on a couple other things, but I have to get my facts together before I can talk about them!
By now you may be wondering what today's challenge actually is. Well, everyone knows how important a healthy meal is, especially in growing children. Most of us also happen to hate getting junk mail in their email inboxes, so Chipotle has come up with a pretty good solution to both problems! They are asking all of us to forward them any junk email we get, and for every 100,000 emails, they are going to donate $10,000 to The Lunch Box! The Lunch Box is a non-proft organization that is helping millions of kids across the country receive healthy meals at lunch time! I thought this was a great idea because it doesn't come at any cost to us, but it helps a lot of kids!
Pretty simple, right? Forward your junk here:
